= 1-for-1 Partnership
To kick off this Thanksgiving week, we’re truly honored to announce our 1-for-1 partnership with Dress for Success!
Stephanie has been volunteering with Dress for Success for the past year and for any of you who don’t know what exactly this worldwide philanthropy does, read below:
Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. To date, Dress for Success has helped more than 500,000 women work towards self-sufficiency.
As we were developing our assistant training program—which became ProAssisting—in the spring of this year, Stephanie mentioned that Dress for Success here in New York enhanced its career training center with new computers and such. That got us thinking of potentially partnering with Dress for Success and after we watched a news segment telling the TOMS Shoes story/biz model—you should check them out if you haven’t—, the idea of partnering with Dress for Success on a 1-for-1 basis really took shape.
This is the part of TOMS Shoes model, taken from their website, that is the basis of our 1-for-1 partnership with Dress for Success:
One for One
TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what we’re all about.
So there you have it… with every person who enrolls in our training program, we are donating a full year scholarship to a financially disadvantaged woman who would not be able to afford our training otherwise as they work towards a life of self sufficiency.
